Year 4 Visit Sustainability Centre

This week, our Year 4 pupils visited the Sustainability Centre to experience Anglo-Saxon life.

They started their day by sitting in a traditional Anglo-Saxon settlement and learning about what life was like during that time period.

After meeting a Saxon man, who showed our pupils artifacts such as household tools, weapons and even the clothing they wore, the children then went on to play some ancient games of 'Hit the Crow' and 'Wack the Rat'.

After lunch, year 4 then took part in wattling where they created their own mini fences.   They also took part in grinding seeds.

The last activity saw the children become archaeologists where they had to find and compare different pots and create their own Anglo-Saxon pottery.

The children had a fun and active day!
